MTV goes Geography

Kaiser Chiefs' recent single Ruby just shows that Geography is all around us. How many different examples of infrastructure can you see in their video? How important is infrastructure to the growth of cities? What functional zone of the city are the Kaiser Chiefs playing in? How do you know and would this be the best place for a free live performance?

Hate the song, but I think your use of the song is brilliant!

took a break from revision and made notes on the video.

the following infrastructure:
Buildings
Transport (helicopters, roads, cars, airships, planes)
Recreational Zone (park)
Zone of transition/industry
Residential
CBD/Business

infrastructure is of paramount importance in the growth of cities as it allows them to expand.

I'm thinking zone of transition of brownfield site.

It would not be a good place for a live performance as there is little transport infrastructure to get the people to the gig. However, as the city grows upwards, the gig is in the CBD and therfore would be in the core and would be easy to get to as transport infrastructure has been established.

Right. back to unit 4!

Pretty Good Dom! I thought they were already in the CBD but you make all the right comments.

I'm not so sure about some of your infrastructure ideas, although what you say about its importance is spot on! A few you've given are functional zones.
Keep up the good work.
